Teens and Sex
How do you approach teens in your life about sex and the consequences???
Grandama, Mother, Sister all had children in their teens... how do you discourage the future generation from making the same mistake???
First, Amanda congrats on the new blog, LOVE IT already ;-) Secondly, this poses room for serious discussion. I have three siblings 14, 15, and 18 and I've come to realize that I have a really big influence over them. Unfortunately, you learn from what you see versus what a loved one might tell you. If early motherhood threads through a single family, it inevitably becomes a culture - a way of life. I'll have to give some more thought to this...
Fortunately I did not fall victim to trend... My mother birthed 6, my sister birthed 5 of which my mother raised. I did not want that for me. I was 18 years old when I lost my virginity and was 23 when I had my son. However I have become aware that my youngests nieces have become sexually active and I don't know how to handle it... no let me rephrase that... deal with it
